Bronson at the trot...

....and Bronson on the go! Bronson is a 6-year-old Belgian-Quarter Hose cross gelding
standing 17 hands tall. He is very solid in the ring and loves to go on long, working
trail rides. Bronson likes to move -- he is suited for an experienced rider only, and is
not for the faint of heart. Bronson wears size 7 shoes and requires a draft saddle.

Alabama trotting. Alabama is a 20-year-old, 15'1 hand,
very affectionate bay Morgan gelding who rides English and
Western on trails. He is very sweet, and easy to work with
both in the saddle and on the ground.

Alabama at the canter. Alabama gets along well with
other horses and would make a great family horse.

Lacey at the trot.

Lacey cantering. Lacey is an 11-year-old Quarter Horse-Draft cross
mare standing 15'2 hands tall. She is a solid riding horse in the ring and
can go for miles on trails; she loves to lead and would be best for an
intermediate rider. Lacey takes an extra-wide saddle.

.

Bayla at the walk. Bayla is a bay 17-year-old registered Arabian mare
standing 14'3 hands tall. She is very well trained, kind, and nice to work
with; she is suitable for a lightweight rider due to her petite physique
and is very good with beginning riders. Bayla rides English or Western
and goes on trails with other horses.

Bow (r) and Genesis (l) are two retired Standardbred mares.
Bow is 20, and Genesis is 25. Where Bow goes, Genesis follows; these
two have been together a long time and must be placed together.

Bow, a registered Standardbred mare standing 16 hands
tall, will trot forever. She can be ridden English or Western;
Bow loves to go on the trails.

In addition to being quite beautiful in her own way, Genesis is Bow's BFF.
Wherever Bow goes, Genesis will faithfully trot along close behind. If Bow
is doing ring work, Genesis waits patiently in the middle or nearby.

Jack is an 11-year-old, 18'3 hand Percheron cross gelding.
Due to old injuries, he has some limitations; but Jack can go on
the trails with or without other horses; he also enjoys hand walks.

Because of his size, Jack needs someone who is confident around horses;
but he is very sweet and loves attention.

Charlie, a 16-year-old, 16'2 hand Quarter Horse cross gelding, loves
to move. He is well trained and will go for miles on the trails, with or
without other horses. Charlie's rider must weigh 175 pounds or less.

Charlie has a big personality, and is fun to work with.
He is very sweet, and looking for a person who will ride
him several days a week and lavish him with love.

Breezy, a 19-year-old mare, is a genuine BLM Mustang who
stands 13'3 hands high. She can hold a light rider under 125 pounds. She loves to go for a stroll and attention and will take as much
as you'll give her. She is a very good companion pony. .

....

Dara, a 31-year-old, 13'3 hand Connemara pony mare, came to H.O.R.S.E.
as a starvation case. After some rehabilitation and good food, she is now available
for adoption. Due to an old injury, Dara is not suitable for riding; but she loves to
go for walks, gets along with other horses, and is safe for children to handle.

Sweet Pea is an 11-year-old, 16'2 hand Draft cross mare.

Sweet Pea can be ridden by a man or woman, but she requires an intermediate
rider, hopefully someone who can help her be brave at times. Sweet Pea is well
trained and goes on trails with or without other horses; she is as happy to stroll
the trails as she is to trot and canter on them. She gets along well with other horses.

Espirit walking.....

.....and trotting. Espirit is a 16-hand, 24-year-old Thoroughbred-Quarter horse
gelding who used to race. He rides English or Western, but his rider cannot
weigh more than 150 pounds. He will go on the trails with others or alone,
but prefers to go with another horse who can keep up with him.

Dinero, a 7-year-old, 17-hand Appaloosa gelding, now available
for adoption. He is friendly and spirited.

Blondie is a 22-year-old palomino Appendix gelding. At 16'2 hands, he is quite gentle
and has excellent ground manners. He is not currently suitable for riding, but
gets along with other horses and is a very good companion horse.

Wicked is a 20-year-old, 15 hand Morgan gelding. He was
badly abused in the past, so can be occsionally unpredictable.
Wicked is very good under saddle and goes on trail rides alone
or with others. His rider must weigh 125 pounds or less, but he is
not suitable for children.

Since Wicked wore a mask to the showing, here is his handsome face.
Wicked is in search of a low-key, experienced horse person who will
love him and ride him frequently.

Romeo is an 18-year-old Thoroughbred gelding who came
to H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut underweight and injured.

This 15'2 hand ex-race horse is starting to get back in shape;
he can carry a very lightweight, experienced rider on trails
that are not too hilly, and he likes to go.

Romeo cantering. He is quite affectionate; children
can work with him under adult supervision.

All in all, not too bad for a horse who once looked like this.

Thank you for checking out the residents of H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut; and thank you to all who attended our horse showings this summer.
