A 16-year-old 16’2 hand chestnut
Quarter Horse cross gelding, Charlie
is an ex-show horse who can be
ridden English or Western in the ring
or on trails by a rider weighing less
than 175 pounds.

Charlie is a former jumper; and though his
kind owners turned him over to HORSE of
Connecticut when injuries ended his career,
he is still an active horse who loves to do
trails, trails, and more trails. He will go forever
and not break a sweat. Though he no longer jumps, Charlie is great on hunter paces.

We do our work at H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut without the benefit of federal
or state funding....just donations from individuals and some grants. It's an awesome task, but when you meet a horse like Charlie, you realize how important it is to keep doing the work every day. After 30 years, H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut is still committed to this mission.
